So it has been a couple of months since the stable update of the Android 10 has released and it has brought some major updates over the Android 9 Pie and now we are getting reports of the next version of the world's most popular operating system.

Android 10 was released on September 3 and the list of devices which got the update includes many flagship devices like the OnePlus 7 series, Xiaomi's Redmi K20 Pro, the Essential Phone and many more, including the Google's very own Pixel devices, which is quite obvious.

Android 10 has brought great features like a system wide dark mode ( which most of the people out like very much ), better navigation gestures, better privacy settings, focus mode ( which let you stop apps from distracting you from your work ) and many more. But there's still one issue with Android devices that has not yet been fixed and that is, it doesn't allow you to record a video of size more than 4 GB.

The year 2019 has seen some major upgrades in smartphones especially when it comes to cameras. You have now 5 cameras, as on the Nokia 9 Pureview, the budget smartphones like the Redmi Note 8 and Realme 5s have quad rear camera set-up. Now you get 48 MP , 64 MP and even 108 MP cameras sensors , which is really insane. As the size of the sensors has got bigger and better so do the size of the videos and images captured on these devices.

Most of the Android phones now can shoot videos at 4K or at 1080p. Now as you shoot videos on 4K these will obviously take more space than a video shot at 720p of the same time interval and as the size of the video exceeds 4 GB the phone will not show any error message or won't recording rather it will split the video into multiple videos, so the video you shot as one, you will get it in multiple parts. If you shoot videos at lower resolution settings like at 720p then you get more time period to shoot as compared to a video of better picture quality like that on 1080p or 4K where the time to reach the 4 GB threshold reduces significantly.

According to the reports Android 11 will fix this issue with smartphones and will let you record videos of larger size. It has been a long time since the 4 GB restriction as then the cameras on smartphones were not so good as they are today. Earlier you used to get just a single camera on your Android, as many don't even had the selfie cameras, and that were just about 8 or 13 MP and the results of these were not so pleasing.

We can hopefully see forward for this 4 GB restriction getting removed in the beta version of Android 11 which should roll out by the end of Q1 2020. Till then let us wait.

Thanks for reading !!
