Samsung was teasing a new smartphone with couple of videos suggesting various features of the device. And as we expected Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE i.e. S20 Fan Edition, at the event. The Galaxy S20 FE packs in the high end specs similar to the S20 Series but at a lower price.

The Galaxy S20 FE features a 6.5' FHD+ Infinity O AMOLED display and unlike the S20 Series this one has a flat display as opposed to the curved display. The display has also been reduced from the S20 Series which had a QHD+ display. Samsung has reduced the resolution but still has maintained the 120 Hz refresh rate of the screen, which is good to see.

Talking of the build of the smartphone, the S20 FE uses a plastic body which apparently looks like glass, which Samsung calls 'Glasstic'. Many of the midrangers from Samsung uses the glasstic body like the M31s or A21s. The Galaxy S20 FE is also available in a bunch of colors, being specific six colors.

The Galaxy S20 FE has a triple camera system on the back which comprises of a 12 MP main shooter, a 12 MP ultra wide angle shooter and a 8 MP telephoto shooter. The primary camera resolution has been brought down for the Fan Edition and there are also software limitations as compared to the S20 Series. You can't shoot 8K videos on the S20 FE and also the zooming capabilities has been brought down to 3X Optical zoom and 30X Super Resolution Zoom. On the front the Galaxy S20 FE features a 32 MP selfie shooter.

The S20 FE is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC from Qualcomm. This time Samsung has gone with a Snapdragon processor as opposed to its home made Exynos chipsets which fails to meet the standards of the Qualcomm's flagship chipset. The S20 FE comes with only 6 Gigs of RAM on-board while for the storage we have either 128 GB or 256GB option.

The Galaxy S20 FE houses a 4,500 mAh battery which seems decent, atleast on papers. The Galaxy S20 FE is also IP68 dust and water resistant. Plus there is a 5G variant also of the S20 FE and it is also comes with latest WiFi 6 technology.

Thanks for Reading!
