Intel has  unveiled its next generation CPUs just a few days back and I was very much excited for them. The new 11th generation processors consists of 9 processors, which are all based on 10nm process and now have improved integrated Intel's Iris Xe graphics. These are all focused to bring high performance on thin and light laptops, infact they are claimed to be the 'Best processors for Thin and Light laptops'

The new 11th gen 'Tiger Lake' processors comes with features like WiFi 6 support, Thunderbolt 4 support and great improvements in 'real life' performance alongside the better integrated graphics. The processors are said to deliver upto 2.7x faster content creation, over 2x faster gaming plus streaming and 20% faster Office productivity. The new processors are divided into two classes i.e. U series (UP3) and Y series (UP4). Although there isn't any big difference in between them. The processors will also bring better AI features.

Alongside this, Intel also announced its new iteration of  'Project Athena' called as 'Intel Evo' which is a level of certification of the laptops which will provide high level of experience. The Intel Evo laptops will boasts features like less than a second wake from sleep, more than 9 hours of battery life and upto four hours of battery life in less than 30 minutes.

Intel says that more than 150 designs are under work with the new 11th gen Intel CPUs from variety of brands like Dell, Asus, Acer, MSI, Lenovo, HP and many more, out of which 20 have been verified under Intel Evo platform.

It is worth noting that all of these (except core i3 models) are 4 cores processors based on 10nm node while the competitor AMD's new Ryzen 4000 series processors have 6 cores and even 8 cores processors which are based on 7nm process. Also it would be interesting to see how the Intel's Iris Xe graphics performs against the AMD's Radeon graphics, as AMD has been leading in this segment.
