Sony has launched its second smartphone this year, the Xperia 5 II which comes with a 120Hz OLED display, high end specs and a couple of useful gaming centric features. The Xperia 5 II also comes with Sony's Alpha camera technology for stunning photos and video quality. Beside this it has a compact form factor which fits perfectly right in hands, unlike most smartphones in these days.



The Sony Xperia 5 II features a 6.1" 21:9 FHD+ OLED display with HDR support. The display is taller as compared to other smartphones but it is still compact and easily fits in hands and pockets. The display has a 120Hz refresh rate with touch sampling rate of 240Hz which makes animations and transitions much more smoother. The Xperia 5 II retains the 3.5 mm audio jack and also features stereo speakers on the front. 



On the optics front, the Xperia 5 II features triple cameras on the rear which comprises of a 24 mm 12 MP f/1.7 wide angle lens, 16 mm 12 MP f/2.2 ultra wide angle lens and a 70 mm 12 MP f/2.4 telephoto lens. The primary sensor is a 1/1.7" sensor with OIS, the ultra wide lens has a FoV of 124 degrees and the telephoto lens has 3x zoom capability. The cameras have skipped the Time of Flight sensor which was seen on the Xperia 1 II. The Xperia 5 II can also shoot slow-motion videos in 4K HDR with 120FPS. 

There is also a dedicated shutter button on the lower left side of the smartphone which was also seen on Xperia 1 II. All the lenses comes from ZEISS and comes with eye detection. In burst mode the cameras can shoot at 20fps. 



The Xperia 5 II is powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC and 8 Gigs of RAM with 128 Gigs of storage and features 5G capabilities. Beside these the Xperia 5 II is also dust and water resistant with IP68 rating and has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on both front and back. The Xperia 5 II is WiFi 6 capable.


The Xperia 5 II has a 4000 mAh battery, which isn't any big, but comes with some really good battery features which extends the battery life. The Xperia 5 II comes with a 18 W charger which might not sound impressive but it still manages to charge up the device upto 50% in just 30 mins of charge and along with this it also comes with a special feature which allows it to draw the power directly from the socket while playing games when it is plugged in, which in turn will prevent heating up of the device and will extend the battery life. 


 Beside all these the Xperia 5 II weighs just 163 grams and has is 8 mm thick.
